Well that sucks.

My ISP is no longer carrying Binary News Groups. So where am I supposed to surf for porn now?

FrontierNet and ELI will be eliminating binary groups from the newsreader service as of March 15, 2004.

Why is binary group access being removed from the FrontierNet and ELI newsgroups?

FrontierNet and ELI have found many binary groups to be harboring spyware, pirated and hacked programs, illegal software trading, and malware. Binary groups also consume a vast amount of our network resources, as they are prominent for housing both graphics and media. In an effort to better serve our customers and protect the integrity of our network, FrontierNet and ELI will be eliminating binary groups from the newsreader service as of March 15, 2004.

Are text groups going to be eliminated from the FrontierNet and ELI newsgroups?

No. All existing text groups will continue to be retained as part of FrontierNet and ELI newsgroup service.

Where should I go for binary group access if I am unable to access binaries via FrontierNet or ELI?

Binary groups are available from such companies as Supernews.com, DejaNews.com, Newsreader.com, Newsfeeds.com, Value-news.net and Usenet.com.
