There is a disturbance in the force.

So I didn't watch the debate. And it seems it was about 50/50 of my friends list that did. Since my 30's I have always made sure my mind was made up buy October. When things get ugly and mud is flung I just don't listen. Nothing will come out in the next month that will change my mind so why submit to it. Every day John turns on CNN to watch the mud slinging and I just don't understand why. I'm extremely disappointed on Prop 8 but we continue to underestimate the power of the Churches. I honestly think that we need to start taxing them and that would be the only way to get them out of politics.

I just wish my ballot would get here so I could vote.

I am concerned because our ballots aren't here yet either. I am sure we get them earlier that this normally.

I have heard that Prop 8 is not on some ballots that are mailed in Cali? Is that true?

I don't know about ballots mailed within California, but ballots for "overseas voters" like me, who live outside the United States but are still given the right to vote in Federal elections, only have the candidates for president and US Congress. Local or state ballot propositions and offices are excluded. We used to get the same ballot as everyone else, but the rules changed some years ago.

I would have liked to vote on Prop 8, but that's not an option unless I was actually considered a permanent resident of California.

Man, I so totally understand what you mean. I just got my ballot from the San Francisco Department of Elections, and I am looking forward to sending it back via FedEx soon, so that will be over and done with.

I haven't been able to watch the debates, though I think I will eventually watch archived video of them, just because I believe they will have a certain historical value, like the Kennedy - Nixon debates in 1960.

I just hope the growing momentum I am seeing in recent polls keeps growing. In order to prevent theft of the election by a political machine already proven to be dishonest and desperate to hold power, the margin of victory has to be huge, and that is what I will continue to work toward.
