Last week was rough. I've been covering for a co-worker who is on vacation and everything went to hell in a handbasket. So I was so busy I didn't have time to deal with the fact that Friday was my Dad's birthday. I decided I would go over to my sisters and hang out and John would meet me there. John met my sister at her work (she works in Elk Grove) and rode out with her. Well as I was turning onto the street where Ronda lives my alarm company called and said the motion detector was going off in the house and did I want to have the police dispatched. Well I told them to go ahead and send the police since I knew John wasn't home or available. So here is the point of my story. John and I turned around and headed home to check on things. Nothing out of the ordinary, nothing fell off a shelf to set off the motion detector. It was only later that night thatI made the connection it was my Dad's birthday. So I'm not big on spirits and such and neither was my Dad. But here is the thing, the night my Dad died (I'm not sure if I posted this before or not), at around 2 am the Doorbell rang. We have a gay door bell that plays random songs. Well the song that played was "Auld Lang Syne". Of course I jumped out of bed grabbed the gun put on shorts and checked and no one was there. At first I thought I had a dream but John heard it too. But the weird part is the dog didn't bark. She goes nuts when the door bell rings (even if it's a doorbell on TV!). So then I thought it was my Dad saying goodbye. So not sure what this last thing means but given my Dad was an electrician I would expect him to contact me through an electronic means. So maybe it's all a big ol coinciendence but just wanted to mention it. And if it is my Dad I would totally expected him to contact my sister. But then again John and I are a lot more open to that kind of stuff.
Sorry I babble.
