Making a list, checking it twice...

  1. A Movie: Kundun (1997)
Breathtaking cinematography, awesome music, story of the Dalai Lama, reminds me to be and do good things.

  2. A Book: Snow Crash by Neil Stephenson
    Since we already covered Heinlein...

  3. A Band, Song, or Album: Horse - Both Sides
A fantastic artist, this is her best CD, like a throaty Annie Lennox, on this CD she has the Scottish Chamber Orchestra for her back up, sultry and smooth, queer.

  4. A LJ user not on my friend's list: drood
Brilliant writing, very funny, I've read his stuff for years, pre-LJ even.

  5. A place to travel: Hotel Luca in Fira, on Santorini (aka Thira, part of the Cyclade Islands), Greece
Go in the off season, and don't go this year with the Olympic crowds.

  6. A Website: Ernest Cline
Spoken word comedian, some times not work safe. MP3 examples from his "Airwolf is Ultraman" CD available for free download. Good humor.

  7. An alcoholic beverage: Vinsanto
Its a small production, very sweet dessert wine made on Santorini. The keep most of it local, only exporting a little bit, usually the lower quality stuff.

  8. A philosophical concept within which to frame my lifestyle: The Way of Love (Gabrielle/Xena)
So shines a good deed in a world in need...

  9. A Pie: Betty's Pies - Dutch Apple Crunch
Two Harbors, MN - About 20 miles north of Duluth - Many wonderful pies, all made fresh every day. See Gooseberry Falls State Park while you're there, makes a nice day trip from the Twin Cities.
